It's Friday already and the beginning of April vacation, yeah!! I would like to thank you all for the love you said about my pin cushion. I'm really happy with how it turned out too and hope to make a few more(need to find or make some baby cake plates though).
My sewing area, sitting area, and dining room are all coming along V E R Y slowly, I don't know why I'm dragging my feet, I'm just so unmotivated, even though I can't wait to sew in my new area. Hopefully with the kids home this week, I can get it all done. I just can't believe all the work involved, I seem to be cleaning out every cupboard in the kitchen just to make room to clean out a few. I did manage to take all the pfaltzgraff out of the sewing area cupboards, as seen above. I started to put the fabric in that I have bought recently, but I have tubs in the basement that I need to sort through. I don't plan on bringing it all up, just the pretty stuff and the stuff that I plan on using in the near future. Here is a pic of some flannel I bought last week to make some lounge pants for the kids, not that I needed another project, but "it was on sale!"...
Since I was losing some counter space to my sewing machine, I needed to have a place to throw the bills and the school papers. I came up with a two tier paper holder, hubby cut the wood for me and I sewed the fabric and attached it(love my staple gun). It hangs on a little side wall in the kitchen and will do for now...
On to the dining room...I still haven't found a rug that will work and I have decided that we will go without one for now rather than spending money on a less than perfect one. I can wait until the right one comes along. I know I have mentioned my collection of Pfaltzgraff Folk Art dishes before, but I don't think I have mentioned my dilemma about them. I started collecting them about 5 yrs ago, and since they are a retired pattern, I bought most off of Ebay or at antique stores and some was given to me by family and friends. My collection has become so large that it is almost intrusive, it takes up every cupboard in the kitchen and there are so many decorative pieces that aren't being displayed(because of lack of space) that I almost feel guilty and sad for the pieces(I know that sounds crazy). I have seriously been contemplating selling the entire collection and starting new(maybe just a basic white), but the market price for the dishes isn't what it was a few years ago, so then I think maybe I should just pack them all up and put them away for awhile. Perhaps in a few years I will be back into them. But of course the actual thought of packing up 6 or 700 hundred pieces of pottery doesn't sound that appealing! So, I will keep them where they are for now, but have decided to move some into the dining room(mainly the pieces I had to clear out the glass cupboards). Which leads me to the latest pic of my hutch in the dining room, still trying to figure out how to arrange it all...
I just want to wave a magic wand and have a clean house!!!! Really, this is going to be the LAST rearranging I do for awhile, I just can't take the mess and total chaos anymore. Ya, I know, in a month or two, I will be complaining about another room, but please hold me to it, don't let me do it!!
6 more posts till my 100th post and a nice surprise give away(guess I better get started on that, huh?)
I know my dad has never even looked at this blog, but I still want to wish him a Very Happy 64th Birthday. Love you dad :)
Have a fantastic fun filled Friday.
