the blue monkey bedroom(the reading corner).
Our version of modern monkey art(just placemats from target). I didn't take any full room pics because her room was a mess!)
The pink room, going for our version of a French room.(I need to add the other curtain panels to the front windows still so they tie back like the side window)
I painted some simple drawings on the walls to break up all the pink.
After I dropped the kids off at cheerleading camp this morning, I made a quick run to goodwill, here are my finds...
Hit the mother load of rick rack and binding, all in one bag for $2.99.
I'm always needing shelves, found this nice one for $1.99 and I don't even need to paint it, love the distressed black. Then I found this neat birdhouse house shelf, also for $1.99, but this one needs to be painted...
Found another great white bed coverlet($3.99) and a red gingham tablecloth($1.59) , these were headed up to the laundry room so that is why I didn't take them out of the bag.
Getting washed was a bag of wooden play food($2.99) for the boy's kitchen and a large cinderella Pyrex bowl that matches my Pfaltzgraff dishes($1.99).
I also found some beautiful pieces of milk glass for my friend Debbie, but I dropped those off at her house before I could photograph them.
I've been working on a crocheted blanket for Project Linus...
And I'm slowly working on a split 9 patch quilt for my bed. Stupid me didn't realize until I was well into cutting fabric that 2.5" squares only make a 6" square finished block. And since I'm making a king size quilt, I will need 272 blocks which is 2,448 squares!!! I only have about 800 cut so far...
sorry for the shadows, the sun was coming through the window and I didn't feel like moving my cutting board(which is an old wood ironing board).
Now for some house pics, just changed some small things here and there, and Yes, I moved the dining table again. Who said that it wouldn't last long in the family room?, you were right, I moved it back to the kitchen :) What can I say, I like change....
I went back to embracing my Pfaltgraff Folk Art collection of dishes, so they are the focus in the kitchen.
I took out a lot to of the bright white and went back to the colonial colors(changed the valance and took down the quilt on the wall).
Put the round table back in the family room.
I made this floorcloth last Fall(drew and cut the pineapple stencil myself) but the ends were starting to curl and the paint peeling off, so I took it off the floor and hung it on the wall.
That's all for now. Sorry that I've been out of touch with everyone, I haven't even looked at other blogs in ages. I thought summer would be slower, but it turns out a lot is going on, so for now, my blog will just have to be a posting of what's happening and not quite as social as I would like it to be, hope you all understand.
Have a wonderful week.
Tiff
PS I can't figure out why that first paragraph is linking to the last pic, strange.
